The Kokusai Karate Kai started teaching Shotokan Karate as Lenbukan Renton in 1985. After moving to Clydebank in 1990, the club name was changed to Kokusai Karate. The club is SKGB accredited, and a West Dunbartonshire Sports development quality club.
Club coach Sensei Billy Haggarty has been teaching Karate for 28 years, is a 5th Dan black belt, a level 3 SKGB coach, BKF Referee and kata judge.

The Kugatsu Karate Do is a thriving karate club based in the west end of Glasgow, teaching Shukokai Karate to over 100 students of all ages and abilities. Sensei Graham McCann (5th Dan), the Chief Instructor, opened the first of two dojo on the 6th September 1995 in the Kelvindale area of the city.
Over the years, the Kugatsu Karate Do has gone from strength to strength in terms of the number of students choosing to learn Shukokai Karate.
